Mild to Severe
Allergies effect many individuals today in fact, over 24 million people in the United States suffer from allergies daily. Whether these allergies range from mild to severe they can be pesky nonetheless. Peanuts, mold, dust, or pet dandruff are main culprits of many allergy related cases and can also spark severe reactions for many. A constant allergic response can irritate many systems within your body and produce reoccurring negative side effects. Although “mild”, these symptoms are not conducive to the body and it is not recommended that the body to be in a constant state of attack. There are many tips and tricks you can follow to help minimize your allergies and keep your body healthy. Some common signs you may have a triggering allergen within your home are:

- Runny nose
- Sneezing
- Fever
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Watery eyes
Minimizing Allergens
Left untreated these symptoms can result in cardiovascular and lung related problems for many seniors. You should also note that it is possible to develop new allergies with age. These new allergens can be a result of weather change, moving cities, lifestyle changes, and/or genetics. You may also visit your primary care physician to run an allergen panel to confirm your suspicions. Some actions you can take to help mitigate allergies are:
- Deep cleaning your home regularly
- Powerful air filters
- Keeping windows and doors shut
- Using a humidifier
- Consume local honey
- Avoid mold spores
