Kansas lies in the dead center of the United States and is generally very flat with cool winters and hot summers. The state is vulnerable to extreme weather and often experiences tornados, with more than 50 occurring annually, so it is best to choose where you live wisely. Kansas, unofficially nicknamed “The Wheat State”, is heavy into agriculture and industrial processes. Topeka may be the capital, but Wichita is the most populous city and the most highly visited by tourists. The city boasts numerous agriculture, history, and science museums, along with some beautiful Midwestern landscapes.
